RevMedica Appoints MedTech Commercialization Leader Ron Galovich to Board of Directors

RevMedica welcomes Ronald Galovich as Board Member: Bold Innovation. Proven Leadership.

Veteran medical device executive brings more than 35 years of commercialization, market development, and surgical technology leadership as RevMedica advances toward commercialization of its surgical stapling platform.

MIDDLETOWN, CT: RevMedica, a pioneering MedTech company set to revolutionize the way surgeons approach soft-tissue management, announces the appointment of Ronald (Ron) Galovich to its Board of Directors.

Ron joins RevMedica at an important stage in the company’s growth as it prepares for the anticipated FDA submission of its flagship powered surgical stapling platform and continues building its commercialization strategy.

With more than 35 years of medical device and life sciences experience, Ron brings extensive expertise in advancing surgical technologies from concept through commercialization, building high-performing global organizations, developing new markets, and scaling emerging medical technology companies.

“Ron has a broad surgical technology commercial experience,” said Tom Wenchell, CEO and Co-Founder, RevMedica. “His background in surgical stapling and scaling disruptive technologies is particularly valuable as RevMedica prepares for its next stage of growth. He has already become an important contributor to our go-to-market planning and commercial strategy.”

Ron has held executive and general management positions with leading medical technology companies including Covidien, Ethicon, Convatec, STERIS, and Baxter, where he led the development, launch, and commercialization of innovative and transformational technologies across the globe.

His experience is particularly relevant to RevMedica’s focus on advancing surgical stapling.

As Chief Commercial Officer of Standard Bariatrics, Inc., Ron led commercialization, market development, and scale-up activities for the company’s revolutionary bariatric stapling technology. During his tenure, the company achieved significant growth in market value, culminating in its acquisition by Teleflex Incorporated.

Most recently, Ron served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GT Metabolic Solutions, where he led the North American commercialization of the company’s transformational magnetic compression anastomosis technology.

“I’m honored to join the Board and work alongside such a talented and dedicated group of individuals,” said Ron. “The opportunity to help guide the development of this innovative tissue-sensing technology is extremely exciting, particularly given its potential to enhance surgical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.”

Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Marketing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Columbia University’s Senior Executive Program.
